Boom in the Indian Surrogacy market has led the government to consider legalising commercial surrogacy agreements in the country. Indian law must embrace the concept of vasudevayakatumbakam, i.e. 'the whole world is my family'. Rampant practise of surrogacy in some parts of India needs to be checked, controlled and channelised in a framework of law, which regulates the rights and duties of parties. The dire need of the day is to enact an effective law on surrogacy issues.
